Google.comGoogle is, first and foremost, a search engine, though Google is rapidly becoming a web portal such as Yahoo! and AOL. Google recognized that I was using a mobile browser and provided mobile content with the option of loading up the "Classic" Google page. The search box in either orientation is readily accessible to the user. At the top of the page there is navigation that takes you to several of Google’s online functions of Gmail, Google Calendar, and Google Reader. There is a link in the upper right that takes you to your personal iGoogle account. In either orientation, Google is extremely useable. In landscape orientation the navigation at top is slightly easier to read. While the content below the "Google Search" button isn’t visible, the primary elements for the site—the search box and the button—are visible along with the options of "Web," "Images," "Local," and "News." The iGoogle link remains in the upper right corner. |
