About the Authors
Matthew Louie is a PhD student in composition and rhetoric at the University of Wisconsin-Madison and is currently teaching English 100 (FYC). His background as a Cantonese-CHamoru scholar informs his research as he engages in discussions surrounding anti-racist writing pedagogy +assessment, linguistic justice, and cultural and indigenous rhetorics with the goal of empowering his students alongside contributing to cultural revitalization efforts in his communities.
Sujash Purna is a PhD student in the Composition and Rhetoric program at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. His research interests include immigration rhetorics, institutional violence in literacy, and teaching with AI. A recipient of the CCCC Scholars for the Dream Travel Award in 2024, Sujash teaches English 201–Intermediate Composition and instructs at the UW-Madison Writing Center. He is the author of five books of poetry and essays on immigration and writing.
